Hey there fellow lighting friends. Backlighting solutions can play an important role in illuminating the world around us. Backlighting can be used to highlight signage and typography for important wayfinding guides or used architecturally to set a mood that is felt throughout applications like hospitality, entertainment or retail environments. Today, we have the LUXFLEX led sheet and the LUXFIT LED panel by Ledconn on hand, and here is what you need to know.

Ledconn, an industry leader in custom backlighting solutions, provides designers with the components and design expertise to create some truly amazing installations. At first glance, we noticed how slim both of these products really are.

Measuring only 1/4”- 3/8” thick, the LUXFIT LED panel is perfect for illuminating compact and narrow spaces. Now, when backlighting narrow spaces, it’s critical that the output appear consistent across the entire illuminated surface, eliminating any opportunity for dark or unlit corners. The LUXFIT panel uses dot pattern technology allowing for an extremely uniform distribution across the entire panel and is capable of being installed within a mere 0-2” setback of any backlighting cavity. The LUXFIT is available in multiple sizes and can range upwards of 5’ x 10’ for a simple panel. Lastly, multiple LUXFIT panels can be mounted next to one another to create larger installations and can even utilize shared power supplies so long as the total power consumption of the light panels is lower than the power output of the power supply.

Now, let’s take a closer look at the LUXFLEX led sheet, which has a few remarkable advantages to challenging backlit installations. First the LUXFLEX as its name implies, is flexible and allows for the backlighting installations to be curved. The LUXFLEX may also be tiled with multiple sheets for larger scale projects and can also be cut into pieces as small as 2” x 4” which provides an opportunity for installations that are drastically different in size. Finally, the LUXFLEX is dimmable, provides a wide 120 degree beam angle and is available in static white, RGB+W and even color tuning variations
